Description
Few gravel framesets carry the reputation of the Kinesis Tripster ATR. Now in its third volume, the ATR has built its name on quietly capable titanium frames designed in the UK with input from a network of long-distance riders, racers and bikepackers. It is the kind of bike that gets ridden across continents as often as it is ridden across a county.
Frame & build
The frame is hand made from cold-drawn seamless 3Al/2.5V titanium tubing, a material choice that gives the ATR its distinctive ride feel: enough flex through the rear triangle to take the sting out of long, rough days, with sufficient torsional stiffness through the front end to keep steering precise on loaded descents. Kinesis Rider Fit Geometry has been refined to deliver consistent handling across the full size range, so a 48cm rider and a 62cm rider both end up with a bike that behaves as intended.
Volume three pairs the titanium frame with Kinesis’s carbon Range fork, which adds extra cargo capacity through fork-leg mounts for cages or anything-cages. That makes the ATR a credible candidate for everything from a weekend overnighter on local bridleways to a multi-week expedition where carrying capacity actually matters.
