Enigma Endeavour Mk.2 - Reynolds 853 Steel Frameset

Description

Steel still does things titanium and carbon cannot quite replicate, and the Enigma Endeavour Mk.2 leans into all of them. This is a hand-built adventure frameset designed for riders who measure trips in days rather than hours, where comfort, repairability and load-carrying confidence matter more than chasing a number on a power meter on a Tuesday evening lap.

Frame & build

Tubes are drawn from Reynolds 853, a heat-treated air-hardened steel that climbs in strength after welding and gives the frame a lively, springy feel under load. Geometry is biased towards stability, so the bike stays composed when fully loaded with bar bags, frame packs and a saddle roll on rough gravel descents. An engraved stainless-steel seat-stay bridge adds a subtle finishing detail and works as a structural element rather than just a styling cue.

The Mk.2 update brings stronger UDH dropouts for full compatibility with current and future drivetrains, plus a refined frame layout that opens up tyre clearance for casings up to 50mm. A 68mm BSA threaded bottom bracket and external cable routing keep field servicing straightforward, which matters when you are days from a workshop. Multiple mounting points support racks, cargo cages and bottle setups for genuinely committed bikepacking routes, and every frame is built to order rather than pulled from a stack.
