Description
The Trek Verve+ 1 Lowstep LT is a friendly, light-assist electric hybrid for daily commuters, easy weekend cruisers and anyone returning to the bike after a long break. The lowstep frame makes mounting straightforward, the upright riding position keeps your view of traffic open, and the modest motor adds just enough push to flatten the headwinds and small hills that put people off riding in the first place.
Motor & battery
An Alpha Gold aluminium lowstep frame keeps the standover low and hides cables, battery and rack mounts inside a tidy silhouette. A Hyena 250W rear-hub motor delivers up to 40Nm of torque and assists up to 25 km/h, drawing on a 250Wh down-tube battery, and the Hyena LED Bluetooth bar display makes flicking between assist modes feel like changing the volume on a radio. Wide 27.5×2.0in Bontrager H2 Comp tyres add cushion and a stable footprint on cracked tarmac, towpaths and light cycle routes.
Practical kit is built in: hydraulic Tektro HD-M275 disc brakes for confident stopping in the wet, integrated front and rear lights, full-length SKS mudguards, a kickstand, a MIK-compatible alloy rear rack and a frame lock. Drivetrain is an 8-speed Shimano set-up with an M315 shifter, Acera M3020-8 derailleur and HG400 11-40 cassette, more than enough range for typical UK riding.
