Description
The Ridgeback Advance 3 is a hybrid e-bike built around the Shimano STEPS E6100 mid-drive system, a setup that puts a familiar, well-supported motor at the centre of an otherwise practical, equipped-for-everything UK commuter and weekend explorer. It is the kind of e-bike that disappears into your routine: lights work, mudguards keep you dry, the rack carries your bag, the motor helps you up the hill.
Motor & battery
The Shimano STEPS DU-E6100 motor produces 250W and 60Nm of torque, with assistance managed through the STEPS E5000 combined display and switch. A neatly integrated 504Wh Darfon battery hides inside the down tube and supports a quoted range of up to 205km depending on assistance mode and terrain. A 10-speed microSHIFT drivetrain with an 11-36T cassette extends the usable cadence range when you push beyond the legal UK assist cutoff.
Comfort and surface versatility come from an RST Volant 60mm-travel suspension fork and 50mm Schwalbe G-One Bite tyres, which handle rough urban surfaces, towpaths and easy gravel with confidence. Full metal mudguards, integrated lights powered through the STEPS system and an AtranVelo-compatible rack make the Advance 3 genuinely ready to use as a daily and weekend bike from the first ride.
