The On-One Free Ranger with SRAM Apex AXS is the most accessible route into wireless, electronic gravel shifting on this carbon platform. You get the same purposeful frame and fork as the higher-tier Free Rangers, only matched to SRAM’s hard-wearing Apex AXS groupset, which keeps the cabling minimal and the cockpit tidy.
Frame & ride
Underneath the paint, the carbon frameset has been shaped with progressive gravel geometry: a longer reach for stability on loose descents, slacker front-end angles than a road bike and chainstays tuned to keep the bike lively when you stand on the pedals. UDH compatibility future-proofs the rear end, while clearance for tyres up to 48mm on 700c gives you serious flexibility, from semi-slicks for fast lanes to knobbly treads for proper off-road days.
This is a frame that’s been planned around the way real riders actually use a gravel bike. Mounts on the fork legs, top tube, down tube and seat tube let you fit cargo cages, frame bags, bottle cages and mudguards without compromise, and a Mavic Allroad disc wheelset gives a tubeless-ready, dependable rolling base. With a quoted size-Medium weight of around 9.25kg, the bike feels eager on climbs without sacrificing the toughness needed for loaded riding. Apex AXS is also reassuringly easy to live with: the rear derailleur charges in around an hour, batteries last most riders a couple of months between top-ups, and the lever ergonomics suit longer days on rougher surfaces.
